Visual merchandising plays a crucial role in enhancing the overall shopping experience and driving sales by creating visually appealing displays that effectively communicate our cruise line partner’s brand message and image.

The JR Visual Merchandiser assists the Visual Managers with the implementation and execution of global strategies and compelling visual merchandising presentations, across an array of product categories, to drives sales and create an engaging shopping experience.

What you’ll be doing:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Common task and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Collaborate with the visual manager to create enticing in-shop displays and window presentation
  • Assists in the execution of visual merchandising strategies and global initiatives
  • Execute and/or validate the execution of seasonal and promotional marketing campaigns
  • Conduct regular store walkthroughs of retail shops to refresh shop presentation standards, audit floor plans, validate marketing/ COOP campaigns, and identify visual merchandising opportunities
  • Assist in the training of sales associates on visual merchandising techniques, standards and best practices
  • Review monthly photo reviews and provide onboard associates with constructive feedback
  • Participate in regular meetings with the visual merchandising managers to discuss upcoming projects (I.e. Itinerary planning, ship setups, etc.), sales goals and other opportunities by cruise line brand
  • Asist with ideating on seasonal campaigns, pulling together mood boards and sourcing props
  • Assist with creating directive and other training resources

What we’re looking for:

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree or higher with a focus in merchandising, design or related field.
  • Equivalent combination of work/education experience accepted.
  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in merchandising, design or related field.
  • 3 – 5 years or more experience in visual merchandising.
  • Proficiency with design software (i.e. Sketchup, AutoCAD, Foyr, Photoshop, etc.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • 2+ years prior visual merchandising experience
  • Strong presentation skills and general understanding of color theory, composition, styling and industry trends.
  • Creative and solution-oriented approach to tasks and challenges.
  • Ability to coach, train and deliver constructive feedback.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate others.
  • Excellent time management skills, ability to multi-task, work within deadlines in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
  • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to travel (Domestically & Abroad) and flexibility to work weekends/overnights as needed.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Proficiency in the English language and ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 35 lbs.

Other:
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Some flexibility in hours is permitted, employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday and must work 30 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


Physical Demands:
Office environment with frequent sitting, walking and standing, occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand and finger coordination enabling use of office machinery. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Oral and auditory enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication automated devise such as the telephone.
