This position under the direction of the Starboard Beauty Buyer, the Merchandise Specialist manages the Cruises Lines LVMH beauty brands visual merchandising operations and execute proper strategic merchandising standards to ensure consistent and highly qualitative execution of the brands visual strategy in coordination with the LVMH Field Visual Merchandising Analyst.

What you’ll be doing:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Floor Plans:

Creates and maintains floor plans (space and location productivity) to be updated as needed

Works with the LVMH to set plan-o-grams for products on vendor provided and generic fixtures

Visit ships on a regular basis to inspect merchandising standards and works with the Shop Manager and onboard ship specialist to update floor plans

Where applicable, orders and ensures timely delivery of collateral from LVM beauty brands

Initiates marketing requests for floorplan changes

 

LVMH Brand Shop Management:

  • Responsible for the follow up of invoices for POSM, VM and testers or any material assigned by LVMH commercial assistant for each cruise ship and work the re distribution per cruise ship according to guidelines
  • Assign, distribute, track, and communicate the allocation of POSM materials, VM materials and testers to each ship. Ensure and provide LVMH proof of execution
  • Follow up changes in stores (planograms, visuals, videos, and any counters updates according to cycle changes) closely with operational teams of our retail partners => build detailed master files of installations of updates per ship with confirmations and pictures obtained from retailers and follow up closely with retailers on this
  • Lead a global and detailed view of merchandising status per ship to maintain LVMH brand guidelines
  • Visual merchandising reports: Build and compile cruise ships VM performance through PP presentation & report and share with LVMH as needed (gather and compile cruise ships photos, build Cruise Line Channel Visual merchandising Masterfile for Dior with exact detail of VM spaces per ship)

 Internal / External Communication:

  • Works with merchant and planning partners to ensure appropriate fixture fill vs. assortment plan
  • Creates visual directives and communicates merchandising standards
  • Manages the ship signage program to ensure new items and promotions are properly signed and communicates updates as needed to shipboard teams
  • Where applicable, trains onboard ship specialist and operating partners on merchandising standards
  • Where applicable, partners with vendors to schedule onboard trainings and merchandising visits
  • Follows-up with the proper team/vendor(s) to communicate sales, merchandising and marketing opportunities on ships
  • Creates product manuals of current assortments or works with vendors to obtain current product knowledge materials to be communicated to the onboard teams
  • Manages and responds to merchandising requests from shipboard teams

Interpersonal Management:

  • Builds a reputation as a positive contributing force within Starboard in all interrelations and communication
  • Acquire knowledge from departments within the organization to gain an exceptional understanding of Starboard processes and key business partners
  • Leverage interpersonal relationships to accomplish merchandising needs

What we’re looking for:

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education and Experience:

  • 4- 6 Years of Experience
  • Associates Degree Required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent attention to details
  • Good communicator – both verbal & written
  • Computer skills (word, excel, ppt)
  • Speaks fluent English
  • Strong visual merchandising skills
  • Must be able to work with vendors and communicate Starboard merchandising standards while adapting to vendor brand guidelines
  • Excellent communication skills to include proven listening, written and verbal skills
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to set priorities, use time effectively and manage multiple priorities; detail oriented
  • Ability to plan workload and projects in advance and work independently with minimal supervision

Decision Making: 

  • Duties and activities reviewed periodically. Supervisor monitors work progress and determines actions on unusual items. Moderate level of problem solving ability.

Travel Requirements:

  • Less than 10% of time (Periodic travel to local ships)

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Some flexibility in hours is permitted, employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday and must work 30 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

 

Physical Demands:
Office environment with frequent sitting, walking and standing, occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand and finger coordination enabling use of office machinery. This position requires the ability to
occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Oral and auditory enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication automated devise such as the telephone.
