The Marketing & Events Specialist leads marketing, events and communication initiatives designed to drive awareness, traffic, engagement, and sales for Starboard Resort’s land-based retail portfolio across all segments (luxury, family, all-inclusive, wellness & spa, adventure, lifestyle, casino & entertainment and destination resorts) and geographic locations.  In addition, the position will provide some support to the luxury and ultra-luxury cruise segment in Starboard Group’s dedicated luxury division, Starboard Luxury. This role leverages multiple channels to tell compelling stories about products, brands, and guest experiences in boutiques that specialize in vacation retail offerings on land and at sea. The Marketing & Events Specialist works closely with the Manager / Senior Manager of Marketing & Events, individual resort or cruise line Marketing contacts, leaders and buyers across Starboard Group (Cruise, Resort & Luxury) to design, plan and deliver campaigns, promotions, events, activations, and experiences that enhance the vacation journey beyond traditional retail. The role also partners closely with the visual merchandiser in these segments to create a cohesive and compelling vibe that attracts customers and keeps them coming back. 

What you’ll be doing:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies aligned with each resort’s brand and customer profile; monitoring competitive activity, collaborating with merchandising, and conducting market research
  • Partner across internal and resort departments to ensure integrated campaigns and cohesive strategies; manage approval workflows
  • Serve as the primary contact and business partner for each resort partner’s marketing team
  • Maintain annual marketing calendars and track progress of initiatives.
  • Manage projects using Workfront software, ensuring timely updates and delivery
  • Ensure all marketing materials meet brand and communication guidelines
  • Partner with the creative studio to develop copy and content for:
    • Guest information materials
    • Pre-stay emails
    • Shop or public area TV screens
    • Digital signage and in-store advertising
    • Public announcements and story cards
    • Social media channels and press releases
    • Other channels as relevant
  • Build campaigns promoting product launches, holiday moments, and special events
  • Lead all aspects of implementation of a scalable event strategy for Starboard Resort with defined objectives, goals and critical metrics to measure success involving key collaborators as appropriate
  • Support communications and event planning for retail promotions while maintaining the appropriate brand voice

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field preferred
  • 1–3 years of experience in marketing, events, or related roles

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Background in marketing, with experience in luxury, retail, vacation, or service environments preferred
  • Experience supporting creative development and campaign execution
  • Collaborative and comfortable working across teams to deliver events and activations
  • Familiarity with digital and social media; eager to expand expertise
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to adapt messaging for varied audiences
  • Interpersonal skills that foster collaboration, active listening, and teamwork
  • Ability to present ideas clearly and concisely

Other:
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Some flexibility in hours is permitted, employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday and must work 30 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.


Physical Demands:
Office environment with frequent sitting, walking and standing, occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand and finger coordination enabling use of office machinery. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Oral and auditory enabling interpersonal communication as well as communication automated devise such as the telephone.
